Fred Brecheen, OD
A Dedicated Optometrist with Decades of Experience
Dr. Fred Brecheen brings over three decades of experience and a passion for advanced eye care to the Lewisville community. A Texas native, Dr. Brecheen earned his Doctor of Optometry degree with distinction from Pacific University College of Optometry in 1990. After completing his studies in Oregon, he returned to the Dallas area to begin his optometric career, providing comprehensive eye care to residents of North Texas.

Advanced Training in Glaucoma & Ocular Therapeutics
To better serve his patients, Dr. Brecheen pursued additional education and certifications in glaucoma management and ocular therapeutics through the University of Houston’s advanced optometric programs, solidifying his position as a leader in the field of eye care. His commitment to professional growth doesn’t stop there—he actively continues his education through the Optometric Extension Program Foundation (OEPF) and the College of Optometrists in Vision Development (COVD). Dr. Brecheen’s ongoing training ensures his patients receive the most up-to-date and effective treatments.
In recognition of his expertise and contributions to the field, he was appointed a Board Member of the Optometric Extension Program Foundation (OEPF) in February 2024. He currently serves as President of the SouthWestern Congress of Optometry.

Continuing a Legacy of Vision Therapy
In July 2011, Dr. Brecheen became the owner of the practice after serving as an associate under Kenneth Lane, O.D. for several years. Under his leadership, the practice has upheld its 40-year tradition of providing specialized Vision Therapy for patients with:

Beyond optometry, Dr. Brecheen is a devoted husband and father. He has been married to his wife, Linda, for over 48 years. Together, they have raised three daughters, all of whom are now educators in Texas. He is now grandfather to 3 boys. The Brecheen family shares a deep commitment to lifelong learning and education, values that Dr. Brecheen brings to his practice and patient care every day.
